Dues Structure Changes - Very important‏

Curlers.  Please remember the following.  Dues are to be paid in full by Dec 10th

Your board has instituted a change in the dues structure for this season.  The two most important parts of this are that all dues are to be paid in full by Dec 10th and to make this easier for members the club now accepts credit cards as payment.  When a credit card is used there will be a 3% transaction fee added to your dues to cover the costs.  For members with unpaid dues after Dec 10th the club will ask the unpaid members entire league team to discontinue league play until the dues become current.

New Building Announcement

Club Member

Since the beginning of this curling season, you have no doubt noticed activity toward making some decisions about a new curling facility in Grand Forks.  The week of Nov 7th saw brief updates between draws at our league nights and this culminated on Sun Nov 13th where we held a formal presentation at the club.

Based on this input the Curling Clubs Building Committee has recommended to the full board that the club should proceed with an entirely new building on the current site of the club.  As a minimum this new facility will have the same 4 sheets of ice we have today but activities are still ongoing around zoning and property lines that could possibly result in the addition of a 5th sheet.  This recommendation was passed unanimously by the full board at our Nov 22nd meeting.

Given this recent decision we now begin the difficult task of fund raising toward this goal.  Please stay tuned for details on how this will go regarding total amounts required as well the various means by which contributors will be recognized.  Your board welcomes suggestions on creative ways to accomplish this so please offer up your ideas as they occur to you.

The road ahead of the Curling Club on it's way to a new facility, is a long one.  Your input on this (both creatively and financially) is necessary and welcomed.
